Today the Charlotte Bobcats have officially changed their name back to the Hornets. Very excited to see the primary logo I helped bring to life finally become a part of basketball’s visual heritage. It’s a childhood dream come true for me. Big congrats to Brand Jordan, Rare Design and Hornets fans everywhere for what hopefully is a great new chapter for the franchise. link

Beginning today, I am now the Design Director of Innovation at the New York office of Interbrand, focused on expanding the agency’s creative processes, service offerings and design thinking capabilities. This is a move I’ve been wanting to make for some time, expanding my role from a focus on identity design to broader design thinking and industry thought leadership, and I can not wait to get started.

Yesterday, owner Michael Jordan unveiled the new visual identity for the 2014–15 Charlotte Hornets NBA team, a project I’m pleased to announce I helped develop for Jordan Brand alongside the fine folks at Rare Design and with the aid of collaborator David Iglesias. Excited to share the full case study soon.
RF Celebrate Legendary
On July 16, 2012, Roger Federer surpassed Pete Sampras’ record for most weeks as the top-ranked tennis player in the world. With his 287th week as the world’s No. 1, the Swiss maestro further cemented his status as the greatest of all time.
To commemorate the occasion, I worked with the Nike Tennis team on a limited-edition series of Roger’s signature Zoom Vapor 9 Tour shoe, limited to 287 pairs (one for each week on top of the rankings). I created a custom ambigram logo, pattern and special packaging — inspired by the back of playing cards — to honor the achievement.
